Though this is a nice shot, I'm perplexed about how it received several hundred votes within an hour or two to put it in the top 5.

The emotion seems a bit staged. The composition is a bit static and my eye is drawn to blown out spot on the front of her dress. The white balance seems off but it could just be the reflection from the pink wall behind them. It's an okay photo with a humorous side.

I just logged in to see how my photos were doing, and was pretty surprised and happy at first to see this photo do well, I'm a little suspicious now based on lassamyst's comment. This was just a quick humorous snapshot of a very expressive couple at their wedding, it has severe blowouts in both the brides dress and grooms tie. Although it is a funny picture that has gotten a lot of legitimate attention, it is not top 5 quality, and IF in fact it got that many votes in that short a time, it concerns me a little. I encouraged a lot of friends, family, and co-workers to vote I'll ask around to see if anyone did anything stupid. Thanks.

Apparently a few friends DID get a little overzealous with their voting last night. I encouraged everyone to vote and view the site regularly, since this is how this game is played, but it seems a few have gone overboard. I agree with Jenesis see Jenesis RAW post that the number of votes should be limited to prevent this kind of crap. It would be nice to have a fairer voting process. This is why I normally avoid contests, except that this time, I am made out to be an apparent A-hole as intended beneficiary. On behalf of my friends and myself, I would like to apologize to the judges and other photographers for this B.S.

Not to sound like a poor loser... but for a picture to win even after the photographer admitted it wasn't good work and apologized for it being voted up... then it wins. I highly doubt Russell James is really judging these pictures... it's probably just some VH1 intern and I am officially done with this joke of a contest.
