I don't really see how this is justified as a fashion photo... sure it has the nice makeup and counts as a glamor photo, but there's no clothing. It's like taking a picture of a cow and calling it food photography.

I must agree that this photo is entered in the wrong category. It is a beauty shot by the maker own definition as being jewelry or fragrance. Unfortunately you have spent a great deal of time and effort raising you entry to the top but there is no fashion involved with it. I hope if you are in the top five that you will not be passed over because the image is out of its proper category. It is an interesting image.

To the critique above me, I don't believe fashion is or should be limited to clothing. As a student/rookie in photography you obviously haven't been taught that yet. This is a beautiful photograph . To me is shows fashion from the neck up. I love the unique design of the hair, makeup and jewelry.

You're right... fashion isn't limited to just clothing, there's all sorts of purses and accessories to create an overall style. When photography is just based on pretty makeup that's classified as glamor photography.

I am amazed at how this competition has brought out the worst in some people. Neither critique was intended to be insulting or demeaning but here we go again with the sarcastic snide remarks purposely written to insult. Why cant you just politely state your opinion and leave out the sarcasm? It accomplishes nothing. There are blogs where you can rant and rave to your hearts content. I can only hope you will find your way there.

Oh yes, by the way this is a great photograph just mis-categorized, in my opinion.

What's the definition of fashon? Perhaps anything attached to the body for the purpose of defining one's expression would be the closest I can conceive. I love the style or fashon that this artist has constructed with the model. Since there are no contests for 'Glamour' or 'makeup', I believe that the photographer has entered the closest category of all that are available. I noticed he also entered a photo of a dog into 'Emotions' that has more real emotion in it's face then any contrived human expression staged for a picture. I think that this photo is an excellent rendition of a fashon ad concept, especially for an amatuer.

There is a beauty category in which I think this image fits. Just because I'm saying it's not fashion doesn't mean it's not a great image. It's just unfortunate it's probably going to take up a top 5 slot in a category where it doesn't belong.

I think this absolutely classifies as a fashion photo. I could definitely see this as a jewelry ad for a magazine, with maybe a some more diamonds on her hands/fingers to emphasize what they would be selling. I guess its just all in the eye of the beholder is all. Beautiful photo!
