I think this is an awesome shot. I would love to see this printed really large. Hope you are at least in the top five.

THis is very cool. I might would like to see it cropped a little closer, maybe to a square format to really focus on the 'A hole', but awesome just the same.

Thank you everyone for the great critiques. I am glad you like my art, but please, know that by being picked the top of the five finalist, does not make this the best picture in the competition. There were so many great pictures that virtually never got seen, pictures where artists would put them up on line and hope that the art would speak for itself and that the citiques and other artists would then do the right thing and critique and vote with open minds. Instead it has become this, heshe who has the most friends with the most time to waste wins, or atleast wins the one out of five chance. With everyone voting on his or her work a million times, it does not make this contest fair. But because even five people do that anyone who wants to compete has to follow suit and do the same. I am one. I, my family and friends voted this piece up so that I could be in the top five. So.. I look at this as I was picked the number one photo of five, not of all. Please, check out others work on some of the back pages and if the contest is still going in that catagory, and you like thier work, vote for them. It's cool to vote for more than one artist and more than one time. Help level the playing field. I hope next year if they have this compitition, that changes are made so that maybe one vote per piece, per IP adress is in play. Thanks again, I am happy to have my art on here for you to see, but I accept the crowning of this work as a little tainted. Peace. And keep shooting!!! JIM

That's a really classy post Cabal and I'm glad you made it. I was so excited to come across these contests as a way to get my stuff out there but quickly came to find that it seems to be a battle of the myspacers and friend voting. I'd like to think that people are honest and not creating multiple accounts just to get their photos to the front page, but that's just me being a positive person. Anyhoo, this is a good abstract and definitely the best abstract of the top 5 not sure how abstract the others really were to be honest I echo your thoughts that hopefully next season if there is one and they attempt this again they give it a little more thought, one vote per photo, period. Congrats on a winning photo! PS - that title kills me! LOL!!!

Very cool shot, gives me a very post-apocalyptic-sci-fi. I also love your last post here, and completely agree with what you wrote. I am in a similar boat with friends voting my shot up to the top five, and it was also selected winner of its category, emotion. If you have not seen it, Jenesis has a great thread going in her RAW critique that everyone should read regarding the voting. Winning is great, but it is bittersweet. Congrats, and great work!
